VW Jetta GLI could be cheaper and
The GLI was long considered an “other” by Volkswagen enthusiasts and Volkswagen staff alike. Now it is finally getting its due.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI has been a true automotive legend. It was the first hot hatch segment to be created in 1976. In 1984, the GTI arrived in America as the Jetta GLI. It was not long after our first GTI.
The Jetta GLI remains in the shadows of the GTI despite the fact the base Jetta outsold the Golf in America almost every year since its introduction. Due to hatchbacks being more popular in Europe, the GTI has always been the focus.

Jetta enthusiasts now have the chance to take on the GTI. Motor Trend claims that the GLI is a significantly better value than the GTI.
The new model will get all the same upgrades as the GTI sibling and will be in sharp contrast to its predecessor, the GLI. The GLI’s sedan body shape makes the Jetta slightly more slippery than its hatchback counterpart.
Adam Reinhardt, VW Product Developer, said that the GLI’s cost may be more expensive than the GTI for some people. The GLI may be more affordable than the GTI, even though they are on the same platform with similar running geas and equipment.
Reinhardt said that although no pricing has been revealed, Reinhardt teased that “we actually come with calculations that show the GLI offers greater equipment for comparable, or even better, money than GTI.”
