Take a look at the small grille!
The BMW 2 Series Coupe will not suffer the same fate that the four-door Gran Coupe, so the two-door will continue to have rear-wheel drive. The coupe has been seen in spy photos with thick camouflage on its front and rear fascias. However, the latest batch shows that some of this cladding is gone. Even though BMW still tries to conceal it behind the swirly wrap, the photos show much of the car’s styling.
The grille is one of the parts that can be seen now, and it is small. The 4 Series’ controversial and massive grille will not be adopted by the coupe. It appears that the coupe will sport an evolutionary design that is a bit more sleek than the previous model. The flush-mounted handles are still on the coupe.BMW i4 However, the sleek design shows some aggression in the side-skirts.
Although the taillights look identical to production units, the camo at the rear hides their design. The small spoiler at the rear and the dual exhaust can be seen. The 2 Series Coupe is a perfect successor to the current model. It emphasizes the car’s small footprint. Although we have yet to see the interior, we expect BMW will focus on digital screens for both the instrument clusters and the infotainment screen, with tech at its core.
The powertrains BMW will put in the two-door are up for debate. A turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with around 255 horsepower (190kW) will be the base engine. An upgraded straight-six offering is also available. BMW may also offer an variant, but it is unlikely that this will be available before the regular model’s cover. The M4 has a 3.0-liter straight-six with twin turbocharged 3.0 liters. This model is likely to be hotter. Rumours suggest that it will produce more than 400 horsepower (298 hp). Although it is not yet confirmed, a debut is expected for next year.
