BMW Australia is launching a 340i 40 Year Edition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 3-Series.
The production will be limited to 40 units. Half of the cars will have a BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic finish, while the other half will have a Mineral White metallic color. The M Sport package includes satin aluminum exterior accents and an electric sunroof. All cars also have 19-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels with Orbit Grey designs.
This limited-run 3Series LCI cabin features a number of BMW Individual tweaks, including the piano black trim with special 40/3 logo and a leather-wrapped instrument panel covering. Also, the Opal White upholstery is available for blue cars, and Merino Black leather on white.
The 340i 40 year edition has the same 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine that produces 326 PS (240kW) and 450Nm (331lb-ft). This is through an 8-speed manual gearbox. This is enough muscle for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 5.1 seconds and an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The limited edition 340i will begin hitting Australian dealerships in the next few days. It will cost 97.900 AUD plus on road costs. This will make it 8,000 AUD more costly than the standard AU-spec 340i.
