BMW 8 Series Gets First Edition Exclusive Design Tweaks

Only 400 coupes will ever be produced.

BMW has reintroduced a special M850i xDrive Coupe just a month after introducing a unique 8 Series Coupe with pieces actual meteorites inside. BMW Individual has created a new Frozen Blue metallic paint that makes the First Edition stand out from the rest of the 8er variations.

There are many more things to do8 Series Coupe BMW also installed lightweight 20-inch M alloy wheels in Jet Black with a Y-spoke design. The BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line is available on this high-end grand tourer. It includes a variety of dark accents for side windows surrounds and the kidney grille. The M850iXDrive Coupe can also be ordered with an M-branded carbon fibre package or a carbon roofing, both from the extensive M catalog

The interior features a variety of BMW Individual upgrades that make this First Edition even more unique than the 8 Series Coupe. This car features a full leather trim Merino in Ivory White/Night Blue, and a roof liner made of Alcantara in a Night Blue color. The model comes with additional upgrades such as a steering wheel made of the finest M leather and black piano trim accents.

The Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and glass applications on the iDrive controller are just a few of the goodies.

The M850ixDrive has 523 horsepower and 553 pounds-feet (553 Newton-meters) of torque. Its twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V8 motor is the only mechanical change. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to both axles. This coupe can hit 62 mph (101.5 kph) within 3.7 seconds and then reach a electronically controlled 155 mph (254 kph).

The new M850ixDrive Coupe First Edition will only be 400 worldwide. It will be manufactured at the BMW Dingolfing Plant between April and June.
