BMW has the specifications for this M3 pickup, but the automaker already confirmed that it was a joke.
BMW already confirmed that this is an April Fool’s joke. This press release confirms that the M3 pickup is the fourth variant of the M3 Series’ coupe, convertible, and sedan. We can only speculate as to whether the specifications they give here are true. The M3 pickup has a 309kW/420 PS (414 horsepower) powerplant and a rear payload of 450kg – sounds very real. The M3 pickup’s cdquotient (aerodynamic flux) in the wind tunnel is identical to the M3 Coupe. It can reach speeds of 300 km/h (186 MPH).
We have seen the spy photos of this car at the Nurburgring. It is very real. The output rating is the same as the 4.0-liter V8 that goes into M3. This engine also has 400 Nm (295lb-ft.) of torque. BMW claims that this is a unique model, and we believe that it is. There are still some nice photos.
