This is 245 horses more than the standard M2.
We all wait anxiously for the arrival of a more hot M2CS and a still hotter M2 CSL. But Lightweight Performance from Germany has already created a much faster M2. The M2 CSR is short for “Carbon Sport Race”, and it makes up for it in speed.
Of all the upgrades, the most significant is in the engine. The M2 original engine has been replaced by the HTML3 and S55 six-cylinder. This new engine produces 610 horsepower (456 Kilowatts) as well as 568 pound-feet (767 Newton meters) of torque. For those who don’t know, that’s 245 horsepower and 225 lb.ft more the standard M2.
The M2 CSR should be capable of sprinting to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds. It will also reach a top speed at 203 mph (328 kmh). The standard six-speed manual or the optional seven-speed auto from BMW are used to manage it all. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels.
A few aerodynamic improvements have been made to the body, such as a stronger front splitter and massive rear wings, and lightweight forged wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Cup 2 Michelin Cup 2 tires (265/35-19-19 and 295/30-19). The cabin has been coated with carbon fiber and red accents throughout.
The M2 CSR upgraded weighs in at 3,022 pounds (1.371 kilograms), which is almost 430 pounds (195 kgs) less than the standard , weighing in at 3,45 pounds (1.564 kilograms). The cabin is now made entirely of carbon fiber, as are the doors, roof, trunk lid, and doors.
Lightweight Performance has not yet revealed the pricing, but they say you can either pick up a complete version at the shop or bring your M2 to be fully converted. You shouldn’t expect to get all that power for a bargain price.
