Auto Express states that the coupe will be built on the 1Series with unique front and back fascias. Carbon fiber-reinforced polymers and high-performance brakes are expected to be part of the new M3.
Two engines are being looked at: A turbocharged 3.0-liter Inline-Six engine with 350 horsepower (261kW / 355 PS), and an unnamed tri-turbo unit that has similar performance, but better fuel efficiency. It will likely be paired with a new dual clutch transmission, which should allow for quick gear changes regardless of the powertrain.
