BMW M235i Racing Cup gets Evo Package and Transforms into M240i

This new kit includes everything, from engine software optimization to new rear wing end plates.

BMW Motorsport has extended its contract with the VLN Endurance Championship for two years, signaling its commitment to the series. To strengthen its relationship with the VLN series, the company has renewed its partnership with Dunlop tire supplier.

BMW’s motorsport department has introduced a new Evo package to celebrate the renewal of contract. The new kit is ready for next year’s season and includes a number of tweaks including improved software for the engine, as well as shiny new end plates to support the massive wing at its back. BMW Motorsport has not yet provided images of the interior of the race car. However, they say that the optional driver’s seat can be added to the car. This will increase the comfort and precision of the fit while increasing the speed.

BMW has changed the vehicle’s name from M235i Racing Cup (to reflect its new upgrades) to M240i Racing Cup. This Evo pack, which is tailored for the entry-level customer race car, comes nearly a year after the original M6GT3 kit. The midrange HTML4 GT4 is located between these two track-only cars.

Apart from signing contract extensions and playing with the racing car, BMW’s motorsport arm has announced that it will increase the prize money starting with the 2019 season. The top teams will receive a nice sum of EUR100,000. This is approximately $117,800 at current exchange rate. It’s a substantial EUR25,000 (29,500 more) than it was before.

BMW Motorsport will continue to support the BMW M240i Racing Cup Class. They will provide spare parts for teams at the track, as well as customer and engineer support.
