BMW Service Ad Shows iX3 electric SUV is a Terrible Getaway Car

The ad features an E36 3 Series.

BMW launched The Hireseries of short films in 2000. Clive Owen was the star of the film and the ultimate driver to hire. The BMW Service ad shows that the iX3 can be used as a getaway vehicle.

The advertisement opens with three bank robbers fleeing with their bags full of cash. Their getaway driver, an E36 generation 3 Series, pulls them away as they are about to leave the building. The group decides to take the iX3 with them. The driver of the iX3 doesn’t want his name to be associated with this crime. Even after being robbed, he remains still. One of the dye packets explodes in bright pink spraying into the face of a crook. The driver gives the man a tissue to wipe off. The cops arrive to end the heist.

BMW Service’s video description states that “no matter what bizarre, funny or dangerous, we’re here for you.” BMW has recently updated the iX3. The cosmetic tweaks include making the headlights smaller and enlarging grille openings. The taillights feature different graphics and have black surrounds. Inside the car, you’ll find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as an infotainment display that’s the exact same size. The same powertrain is used. The rear axle is powered by an electric motor that produces 282 horsepower (210 Kilowatts) as well as 295 pound-feet (405 Newton-meters). The iX3 can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.8 seconds. It also has an electronically limited top speed limit of 112 mph (182 km/h). The system is powered by an 80-kilowatt hour battery (74 kWh available) that can travel 286 miles (460 km) in the WLTP test. The vehicle can be charged at 150 kW in just 10 minutes and can reach 62 miles (100 km) of range.
