We now have an estimate of the launch date.
BMW will soon add the BMW iX1 to its growing line of electric vehicles. We believe the launch date of the BMW iX1 is near, after its prototype was captured in a variety of circumstances, including one that was found resting in an Ikea parking lot. BMW has now teased the model, including details about its range and price.
Although it has been more than a year since the prototype was first seen in the wild, this teaser is the first time BMW has ever released a preview of the model. According to the official release, the compact and spacious BMW iX1 is renowned for its dynamic performance and long range.
The teaser image shows that the iX1 will follow the design guidelines of the larger BMW iX3. Blue accents and a closed-off grille are stalwarts in electric BMW cars. They will also be featured in the iX1. Although they are from the iX3, their headlights have been shrunken.
According to WLTP standards, the iX1’s electric range will be 413-438 km (257-272 mi) according to BMW. BMW points out that these predicted values are based upon the current vehicle development status.
WLTP range ratings can be significantly higher than the EPA standards. The latter is what’s being used in the US.
BMW stated that the new iX1 electric crossover would follow the market launch of the BMW X1. A plug-in hybrid electric version of the next-generation BMW X1 will be available.
BMW has been extensively testing the X1; the hotter X1M35i version was spotted last month with four exhaust tips. It will likely arrive in the second half of 2022. However, no exact dates have been announced.
