Celebrate 50 Years of BMW M.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW M Division, the BMW X2 Coupe will be getting a special edition. This compact SUV coupe from BMW is the smallest and most popular BMW model. It’s also the first BMW purchased by many customers. BMW has introduced a unique styling package for its X2 M35i SUV coupe to attract buyers who are looking for something more expressive.
The BMW X2 M35i M50th Anniversary Edition joins a group celebrating the history and achievements of the M Division. The BMW X2 M35i M50th Anniversary Edition will feature a few unique trim pieces that will make this SUV stand apart from its siblings. You can expect styling cues derived form other BMW M products, such as gold accents from the BMW CS models or possible carbon fiber bodywork.
The BMW X2 M35i looks like a hot hatchback that’s on stilts. The SUV offers customers a fun and playful driving experience, while also retaining the SUV designation to increase sales. The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine produces respectable 301 horsepower, and 331 lb.ft of torque. This proven inline-4 is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which routes power to all four wheels via BMW’s X Drive all wheel-drive system.
BMW included an M Sport differential to manage torque, further distinguishing the X2 M35i from its base model. The inline-4 also gets a bit of character thanks to the M Sport exhaust. Customers looking for excitement in their SUV will find the M Sport suspension and steering to make it more enjoyable to drive.
We are looking forward to the many other ways BMW celebrates 50 Years of the M Division. We are thrilled to see the new X2 take part, but we hope other models will have more than just small styling changes or a new name.
