BMW may now be seriously considering a smaller X6-like model, the X4.
Autocar has reported that one of its sources from BMW has confirmed that a smaller version of the X6 is on the horizon. The X6 has been a huge success worldwide, selling more than 80,000 units in its first year. This opens the door to a cheaper “coupe SAV” model. According to reports, the X4 is being seriously considered.
It would be built using the upcoming X3 platform and share some engines. BMW has been credited for creating premium products in segments that were previously unheard of in recent years, including the X6, 5 Series GT and new X1.
