A drone attack can be prevented by adding an optional armored roof.
The new BMW X5 protection VR6 is a great option if you are planning to travel to dangerous parts of the world, but still want to drive in luxury. It looks just like every other crossover, but it can withstand bullets up to 7.62x39mm from an AK-47. This is known as a VR6 level armor. BMW rates this rig as being able to withstand a blast of explosives from 15 kg (33 pounds) from 4 meters (a little over 13 feet) away. BMW fitted the X5’s with high-strength panels made of high-strength metal in the doors, roof, side frames, roof and firewall to provide this level protection. Aluminum pieces are available to protect the luggage compartment and underbody. For the windshield, rear, and doors, the windows are 30 millimeters (1.81 inches) thick. BMW claims that the windows can withstand impact from handheld weapons. Splinter protection is available to protect occupants in the event of an emergency.
Buyers have the option to purchase additional protection. Extra underbody armor can be purchased that can withstand an attack by a handgrenade. An armored roof that can withstand a blast of up to 200g (0.44 lb) of C4 explosive is suitable for drones. If there is trouble, the X5 Protection can be escaped in a flash. BMW’s 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 produces 523 horsepower (390 Kilowatts) as well as 553 pound-feet (775 Newton-meters). It can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds. The electronically limited top speed is 131 mph (210 km/h).
The 20-inch wheels are equipped with tires with reinforced sidewalls to provide security while driving away. The fuel tank is protected in the event of fire and self-healing in the event of punctures. There is enough seating inside the X5 Protection for four people. Intercoms allow for communication with the outside world, without putting occupants in danger. An intercom is a standard hold-up alarm that activates by pressing a button. It will lock and close all doors and windows, blink the lights, make a loud noise, and open the windows. BMW has not yet announced pricing and availability for the BMW X5 protection VR6. Based on other armored luxury vehicles you can expect the vehicle will cost six figures.
