They share a common face.
BMW is currently developing two new crossovers. Unofficial renderings show their updated designs. There have been plenty of spy photos of the X5, X6 and X6 crossovers. Both featured camouflaged front fascias. The Koles.ru renderings show the styling changes.
Although they are two different BMW models, the two share BMW’s family face. Their respective redesigns bring them closer. These renderings show a pair normal-sized kidney grilles, which sit above the wide openings of the lower grille. A pair of intakes are placed at the lower bumper corners, and new headlights.
The rear is a completely different story. BMW X5 spy photos showed the crossover covered in camo, which concealed the new taillights as well as a modified bumper design. The rendering clearly shows the changes. Because BMW hasn’t made any changes to the rear of the X6, the camouflage isn’t visible. It’s the same as what is currently on sale.
The company’s new dual-screen setup, which uses a display to show the dash-mounted gauge cluster as well as the infotainment system, is making the X6 look much better inside. The renderings of the X5 don’t show the interior, so we haven’t seen it.
The two models will get updated looks and new technology. However, the powertrain lineup is likely to remain unchanged from the existing models. We will know more about this later in the year. The BMW X5 is expected to be available before 2022. Rumours suggest that production could begin in April 2023. The X6 could be released as late as next year. This would place production in the second half 2023. It would be a model for 2024.
