The torque rating is 678 pound-feet.
BMW’s sport cars are what attract the attention of many, but the luxury X7 SUV from the brand is also a big draw. The X7 has 530 horsepower (395 Kilowatts) as well as 553 pound-feet (775 Newton-meters) torque in its top configuration. This is more than enough power for most people. But Manhart’s minds aren’t the same as the rest. The latest from the aftermarket tuner gives the X7 a small visual overhaul and a huge performance boost.
Manhart retains the SUV’s twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8 engine. However, Manhart adds some software and hardware to increase the power output to 650 horsepower (484 kW) or 678 lbft (6920 Nm). Manhart adds its own MHtronik auxiliary controller unit and a new sports exhaust system. Manhart finishes the exhaust upgrade by adding quad carbon-fiber tailpipes. However, these upgraded tips are not the only visual enhancement for the SUV.
Manhart also added several carbon-fiber pieces to improve its appearance. New front spoiler and winglets are added to the SUV. The stock mirror housings are replaced by carbon-fiber mirror housings. The SUV is covered with matte black vinyl with gold decals. Manhart’s 23 inch Classic Line rims, which are also included on the SUV, continue the black-and-gold theme. Manhart also lowered the X7 by 0.98 inches (25 mm).
The Manhart-tuned X7 is arriving just as BMW prepares for the replacement of the current model. The SUV is undergoing a midcycle design refresh. This includes tweaking the front-and rear-end styling. It could also get a split-headlight design. The brand’s new side-by-side dual display, which houses the digital instrument cluster and info display, will be installed on the SUV’s interior.
Manhart will likely follow BMW’s lead with its version of the new SUV. Manhart’s MHX7 joins a host of high-horsepower models such as those from BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Porsche and others. Manhart tuned the M2 and the 4 Series as well as the 8 Series models.
