Bonkers BMW 7 Series Monster Truck Tours in the Russian Wilderness

Leather and mud have never been so fashionable.

Fish-out of-water stories are always popular and it’s hard to imagine a BMW 7 Series farther from its home turf. The Valkyrie 766 comes to us from Russia. While we don’t understand why Valkyrie chose the name, 766 is a mixture of the 7 Series body with the Russian-built GAZ-66 chassis it rides. It certainly looks capable of traversing roads that are less traveled. It can also travel roads that aren’t there.

This build isn’t just a novelty for bored car enthusiasts. This is the core of tourbigfoot.ru, which offers off-road adventures to anyone interested in the Russian countryside. You can choose to take one or more people on the trip, whether it’s for just a few hours or several days. You can also visit areas that were involved in World War II conflict or take part in a “miracles-of-nature” trip, which, presumably, takes you to beautiful surroundings.

Passenger travels in the very modified 7 Series throughout all of it. Even though the large aluminum gear levels are not original, the interior is very much like a Bimmer. Although the E32 had V8 power and a manual gearbox as standard, we believe that it connects to GAZ powertrain components. The chassis was an off-road staple of the Soviet Union for 30 years, from the 1960s to the 1990s. It used its own V8 engine.

The details of the Bimmer build aren’t listed. But, honestly, does it matter? The Bimmer has camouflaged paint and massive fender flares that reduce the mud from the balloon tires. It also sounds great while tearing through forest trails. This is unlike any BMW we’ve ever seen. If we have the time, this beast will be on our bucket list.
