We want to ride in this thing.
We are thrilled to see the crazy Limo-Jet featured on a new YouTube video by Barcroft Cars. This is the latest clip from the channel’s Ridiculous rides series. We were among the first to feature the crazy car, so we know it’s ridiculous in the best way.
Here are the key facts about the Limo-Jet. It measures 42 feet from nose to tail and is made from an aluminum fuselage from Lear Jet. The vertical stabilizer extends over 11 feet high in the air. If that doesn’t make it seem bigger, the small-looking wheels in front and back measure 28 inches. It’s massive.
We get a better view of the Limo-Jet’s interior because, let’s be honest, riding in the back was what it was designed for. Although it can carry eight people, the Limo-Jet is quite large. However, you won’t be disappointed if you consider its size. The party can continue outside when the Limo-Jet stops, thanks to the banks of speakers that are hidden underneath the jet engines.
The jet nacelles that power the Limo-Jet don’t actually power it. These housings have more speakers and lights that enhance outdoor parties, as well as a cool afterburner effect at rear. The GM Vortec V8 from GM, which burns simple gasoline, is tucked behind the rear axle and sends power to the rear wheels. Jetsetter Inc. coowner Frank DeAngelo estimates that the Lear Jet can reach 100 mph at maximum speed but that’s not the main purpose of the project. It’s 42 feet long and can be maneuvered on streets. The Limo-Jet is street legal.
Jettsetter Inc. can build more if you feel the need for such a powerful machine. The company is willing to build a few more if there is demand, but it is expensive. DeAngelo claims that the company has invested well over $1million in the first incarnation and would not part with it for less than $5 million.
As far as we are concerned, money well spent.
