Brabus 92R Boosts Power and Torque to The Smart EQ ForTwo

Only 50 examples of each type will be made.

Brabus has a long history of modifying Smart vehicles. The company’s latest project, however, is based on the small-sized city car. The tuning experts are working their magic on the SmartEQ ForTwo Cabriolet to give it more power and exclusive touches.

Brabus 92R, also known as the Brabus 92R, is being called a “supercar” for its Sport+ upgraded driving mode. This boosts peak output to 92 horsepower (68 kilowatts) with 133 pound-feet (181 Newton-meters). The company promises a 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time of 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 81 mph (135 kph).

Brabus claims the extravagant exterior is aerodynamic. The central spoiler and new rocker panels provide new contrast highlights. To match the sportier look, the entire front fascia was redesigned. At the back, a new diffuser completes the visual enhancements.

The cabin features two-seater in red Brabus leather, with black stitching and Brabus logos embedded in the backrests. The same color combination is used on the convertible’s soft top electric motor.

The 92R has other performance enhancements, in addition to the increased output of the electric engine. The 92R has a new coilover suspension that is specifically tuned to the car’s wheel-tire combination. Brabus claims the tuned suspension system provides an “exceptional combination of agile, safe handling and high quality ride quality.”

Brabus intends to produce 50 examples of the 92R. Each will have a base price EUR46,284 (or $54,740 at current exchange rates). Brabus’s new control modules and standard features include a three-phase synchronous motor, air conditioning, radio, and navigation.
