Ford has confirmed that it will offer a new color in green for the model year 2022.
Supplier issues, the coronavirus pandemic and Ford Bronco have made it difficult for the Ford Bronco . The much-anticipated offroad SUV won’t be available until June, as Ford navigates thousands of preorders in order to get production underway. Ford has already begun to look towards the future with its 2022 model. It previously confirmed that there would be a new color for the SUV, but Ford may just have teased what it might look like.
For its Earth Month Photo Challenge, the automaker has launched an Instagram contest that will award the grand winner with a custom camera container made from a genuine fuel can. It’s cool enough, but even more impressive is the fact that the camera can has a deep green finish that shows off what the new color will look. The can and $3,000 worth of photo gear inside it are up for grabs.
Mike Levine, a Ford spokesperson, confirmed on Twitter earlier this year that the new green would not be the Filson Wildland Fire Rig Green. This is a mint-green color used in the Wildland Fire concept. He said that it would be a different color, and the green color of the camera can fit the bill because it has a darker tone. This could however be a unique color that the camera can use.
Over the past few years, there have been many rumors about the exterior colors of the Bronco. There has been a lot of speculation about the possible replacement of certain colors for the 2022 model-year. This could allow for the introduction of the new green color. Ford’s use a fuel can for previewing colors is not new. Last August, the company displayed the 2021 Bronco’s extensive color palette by applying the color cans to fuel cans.
