Bugatti Bolide – Close and Personal At Villa D’Este

This track toy is worth your attention. But wait until you hear the straight-pipe exhaust note.

The Bugatti Bolide was a concept car, but it already impressed the world with its unique looks and unmatched appeal. The track-only hypercar, which is only available to a select few, is not your average French vehicle.

Although the multi-million-dollar track toy has been approved for production, customer vehicles will not arrive until 2024. It is known to be a pre-production model car and has been seen arriving at the Concorso d’Eleganza in Villa d’Este on May 20-22.

TheTFJJ, an omnipresent supercar spotter on YouTube, was the one that captured the hypercar. A link to the up-close video is embedded at the top of this page.

Although the Bolide was spotted in blue, it doesn’t matter what color it is as it looks outrageous no matter what its livery. We heard for the first time the straight pipes connecting to the quad-turbo W16 engine of 8.0-liters. Its exhaust system makes it sound different from the Chiron the Bolide uses .

The Bolide boasts 1,577 horsepower and 1,600 Newton meters (1,180 pound-feet), of torque from its bizarre setup. It weighs in at 0.9 kilograms.

These numbers make the Bolide a hot track star. Bugatti includes a HANS (head-and neck support) device along with track days and an automatic fire extinguishing mechanism.

Interested? The French automaker will only ever make 40 Bolide units. Each Bolide is priced at EUR4million before taxes, or $4.2 million depending on current exchange rates. We agree that it is a costly track toy. However, it is less expensive than either the Centodieci, or the unique La Voiture Noire.
