Bugatti will only build 10 hypercars.
Bugatti introduced the limited Centodieci in 2019 Delivery will not begin until next year as the hypercar is still being tested by the automaker. This summer’s latest gamut took place in the US-of-A, where 27 engineers tested the Centodieci, along with a few other Bugatti models, as well as three Chiron Pur Sports, and four Chiron Super Sports. The hot-weather testing was done in the southwest part of the country.
Even though only 10 Centodieci will be produced, the Centodieci is subject to the same tests as other hypercars. It is priced at EUR8 million ($9.3 according to current exchange rates). Automakers made small adjustments, such as requiring an extra air intake near the oil cooler in order to maintain engine temperatures under control.
“The Centodieci’s newly developed bodywork, airflow changes, and its engine bay cover manufactured from glass mean the temperature behavior is quite different, especially in such extreme, 45-degree-Celsius-plus [113 degrees Fahrenheit] heat conditions,” saidAndre Kullig, Technical Project Manager at Bugatti. Bugatti’s 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine produces 1,600 horsepower (1.176 kilowatts). This can propel the Bugatti to speeds of 100 km/h (62 MPH) in just 2.5 seconds. In just 13.1 seconds, it can reach 186 mph (300 km/h). Electronically, it can only reach a speed of 236 mph (380 km/h) at its top speed. The Centodieci pays homage to the iconic EB110 of the 1990s. It has many stylistic differences to the Chiron.
Bugatti will now finish the Centodieci’s last high-speed test drives. To complete the regiment, the company will drive the hypercar more than 30,000 km (186,000 miles) across Europe. Bugatti will sign off the project once it is completed.
