The 10 production models will be delivered later in the year.
Will the Bugatti Centodieci owners put 31,000 miles on their $8.8million hypercar? Will any of the Chiron-based, EB110-themed land missiles see even 3,100 miles? The history of limited-production machines shows that the answer is likely to be no. Bugatti still managed to rack up so much mileage on the Centodieci prototype and brought the testing phase to a close.
Bugatti has released 10 photos of the Centodieci test vehicle to mark the occasion. It’s not clear if this is the same white car that debuted on Pebble Beach in 2019, but it’s the exact same prototype that saw lap the Nurburgring almost a year ago. It is also the same prototype that we saw in Freezer. And a desert. is a wind tunnel. This car is everywhere and has completed its last stint at the Nardo test track in Italy.
Steffen Leicht, Bugatti’s chief of endurance testing, stated that the Nardo test centre provides ideal conditions for intense endurance tests.
Bugatti claims that the Centodieci was stress tested to the tune 745 miles per days on the vast track. This includes sprints to the hypercar’s electronically limited top speed (236 mph), which is admittedly a lot lower than the Chiron limit of 261 mph. Although its body is a tribute to the EB110 of the 1990s, Centodieci underneath is a Chiron, with a W16 engine that pumps out 1,600 horsepower to all four wheels.
“The Centodieci has been deliberately driven to its limits to ensure reliable handling even in extreme circumstances,” stated Carl Heilenkotter (Bugatti’s technical project manager). It is still tested, even though most cars do not enter this range. This is the brand’s philosophy and the reason we put so much effort into testing. Bugatti is committed towards the highest quality standards and durability as well as customer satisfaction.
This Centodieci prototype will now be left with a final evaluation of the hardships and triumphs it has endured over the past year. Bugatti will start deliveries of the 10 production models once it is complete. All models will be delivered to their owners by 2022, unless there are any unforeseen delays.
