Bugatti Chiron GPS Shows 259 MPH on Autobahn

The rear wing of this Chiron tells people to “Have A Nice Day.”

Recent video showed a Bugatti Chiron running at a top speed on the autobahn, reaching 414 km/h (257.248 miles/hour), according to the speedometer. A newly released clip shows that the hypercar was actually able to go a little faster, as the GPS showed the car reaching 417 km/h (259.1 miles per hour).

The previous video told a story about the Chiron owner. This latest video shows the GoPro facing forward during a run. The driver accelerates onto the autobahn from a stop. Although the Bugatti accelerates quickly, the driver isn’t trying to push the vehicle too fast.

Slowly, the driver gains speed and pushes on. Traffic is light and there are not many vehicles in the left lane. The wind blowing over the car is the only sound.

The run was completed on July 20, 21 on an unrestricted section of autobahn close to Wittenberg, Germany. At least, the situation seems as safe as it can be when you travel nearly 260 mph along a public highway.

The world becomes a blurry of gray roads and green trees at these speeds. To avoid a collision, you must react in a split second if there is traffic.

The exterior of the Chiron is shown with its rear wing up at the end of this video. It says “Have fun!” and is visible on the rear of a hypercar as it speeds down the highway.

Radim Passer is the real estate mogul who owns the Chiron. He enjoys Bugattis and high-speed runs. He took his Veyron on an unrestricted section to the autobahn in 2015 and was able to reach speeds of 402.5 km/h (250.1 miles per hour).

Bugatti has just announced that it has a complete order book for its Chiron. The automaker will need to complete the production run in 2024. As part of the new joint venture, the automaker will also work with Rimac to create the next generation hypercars.
