Bugatti Veyron’s Titanium Exhaust is Ridiculously Loud

Louder, stronger, and lighter than ever before

We shared a video a month ago showing what may very well have been the first dyno-test of a Bugatti Véyron. The supercar produced 897 horsepower (669 Kilowatts) as well as 909 pound-feet (1.232 Newton-meters). This roughly translated into 1,076 HP (802 kW) at the crank and 1,091 Lb-ft (1.479 Nm). Evidently, the owner was unhappy with the vehicle’s output and decided to replace the exhaust system for the W16-cylinder, 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged engine.

Ryft was contacted by the client to create a titanium exhaust for his car. The video of the final product can be viewed at the top. The new pipes are lighter than the factory system, which weighs in at least 42 pounds (19 kg). Although the team anticipates an increase in power of between 10 and 15%, the modified Veyron is not yet properly dynoed with new exhausts.

The video also explains the Veyron’s stock exhaust gas filtration system. It includes six catalytic convertors, one for each turbocharger as well as two more larger ones. Ryft’s exhaust system will keep all catalytic converters intact, according to the owner. This should mean that the Veyron is still road-legal. Although we aren’t trying to suggest anything, it will be interesting to hear the W16 engine without straight pipes.

The latest video on the Royalty Exotic Cars channel ( read below text ) shows the Veyron equipped with the custom exhaust system. Unfortunately, all attempts to measure the supercar’s increased output were unsuccessful.
