Buick Envision Plus SUV, Verano Pro Sedan Debut At Auto Shanghai

Although the Envision could be larger, it is unlikely that the US will receive it. However, don’t expect the Verano to arrive anytime soon.

At the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, media are welcome. Buick will be there with two new offerings. The Buick Verano Pro features a redesigned design and updated powertrain. Another version of the Envision is the Envision Plus. This should also be a three-row SUV. We’ll be discussing the details of both options in a bit.

The Verano Pro is our first focus. Although the Verano Pro has been out of the US market for a while, there is no indication that it will be back. However, the small sedan continues to enjoy a long life in China. Although the exterior shape is still familiar, the new version has a refreshed face that Buick claims is “airplane-inspired”. The GS package will give you a honeycomb-shaped grille and a plethora black trim. There are also side skirts and other “wing-like” features at the rear.

The interior is more dramatic thanks to a digital transformation that included two 10.25-inch screens that were combined to create a single display. Buick’s latest eConnect 3.0 connectivity technology is also included. A new turbocharged 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is under the hood. Buick claims that the Verano Pro can be customized with different bumpers, side panels and rear wings. Buick does not yet have any information regarding performance, fuel economy or pricing.

Buick Envision Plus SUV, Verano Pro Sedan Debut At Auto Shanghai

The Envision Plus is probably the most important news, as it was launched in August. Teased earlier in April. In this instance, we mean bigger news It’s both literal and figuratively a stretched version midsize SUV. It rides on a 111.5 inch (2,833 mils) wheelbase. It measures 190.75 inches (4.845 mm) in length, compared to the standard model’s 182.5 inches (4.635 mm), so it has more seating. We believe Most likely This is because GM technically hasn’t confirmed it yet and it is unable to do so right now.

According to a spokesperson for Buick, the Auto Shanghai debut was only for the exterior of the SUV. Details about the interior will be revealed in the coming weeks. At the moment, information such as legroom, headroom and how many people it can carry – all things that are very important to SUV buyers – isn’t available.

Buick did confirm that the Envision Plus is a 48 volt mild hybrid. It uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and an electric assist. The transmission is a nine-speed manual. It uses GM’s VIP electric architecture, which allows for over-the air updates. Like the Verano Pro it also runs Buick’s eConnect3.0 system.

The Verano will not be seen in the US, but it is possible that the Envision Plus with its bigger interior might make it to the States. These vehicles will be introduced in China as part of GM’s plan to introduce 13 new, refreshed vehicles in the largest auto market worldwide by 2021.
