Trans Am Depot will launch a Bandit Edition, based on a Camaro.
Although “Smokey and the Bandit”, was released almost 40 years ago now, the black and golden Pontiac Firebird Trans Am featured on the movie still elicits lots of interest. Trans Am Depot wants to capitalize on the popularity of the car with a Chevy Camaro-based special version endorsed by Burt Reynolds.
As a tribute to the movie’s release year, only 77 units will ever be produced. The cars will have a t-top top roof and other visual tweaks that mimic the ’77 Trans Am. There will be a screaming chicken on your hood, big shaker scoop and Trans Am-inspired front, rear, and side fascias. Bandit decals can also be found on the center console lid, and on the front headrests. To complete the look, Burt Reynolds’ signature is found on the dashboard.
Camaro Trans Am Bandit Edition is a powerful car thanks to its modified 7.4-liter V8 engine with a 2.9 liter supercharger that generates no less than 820 horsepower.
This Chevy Camaro, dressed up as a Trans Am, starts at $115,000 (includes donor car). We are not surprised that all 77 units of this Chevy Camaro will sell quickly despite the high price.
