Cadillac Celestiq Teaser Images Preview the EV Sedan’s Lights and Wheels

Cadillac Celestiq Teaser Images Preview the EV Sedan's Lights and Wheels

Caddy could unveil its new electric flagship later in the year.

The Cadillac Celestiq is awaited by the world. The first announcement was made in 2020. We are now halfway through 2022, and the electric sedan has not yet been released. New Cadillac teaser photos remind us that the electric sedan is coming soon, and may be sooner than expected.

Cadillac’s teaser focused on the lighting aspects of the Celestiq for this round. This might seem redundant, considering that the previous teaser (January 2021) also highlighted lights. This teaser was more black-and-white, but this time we have some color. As you can see in the photo at the top, lighting features will not be limited to the headlights or taillights. The image shows a long fender, the front wheel being pushed forward as much as possible, and an illuminated badge in the background.

Another teaser image zooms into the taillights. They continue Cadillac’s tradition of vertically-oriented, thin red lenses. Similar to the Lyriqcrossover’s design, it is very similar in shape and design. We have also seen this teaser before.

The teaser image of silver is a bit of a mystery. It appears to be a close-up of an exterior trim piece, possibly something along the rear quarter panels. Although it is impossible to miss the standard of the world , this final image is a complete puzzle. We’d love to hear your thoughts about these images.

These teaser images don’t necessarily show a production Celestiq. Although it will be debuting first as a concept car (show car as Cadillac refers to it), it could very well be a production model, just like the Lyriq.

“From its unique proportions to its new effortless, sophisticated form language to the precision of detail, Celestiq stands out from the rest,” Magalie Debellis is manager of Cadillac Branded Advanced Design. The Celestiq showcar was designed to be the “Standard of the World” since its inception.

Celestiq has been around for two years, and the last teaser was over a year ago. Although we expected the big EV sedan to debut last year, enduring supply chain issues and the chip shortage caused delays for almost every automaker in the world. Could we see the Celestiq finally revealed this year with Cadillac getting back on the teaser train? Cadillac isn’t speaking, but we are betting heavily that yes.
