The Cadillac CTS-V Racing Coupe will enter competition Saturday. It features a supercharged V8 engine of 6.2-liter capacity that produces 535 horsepower (399 kW/ 542 PS).
Cadillac has turned their attention to racing after the company just finished testing the new CTS–V Racing Coupe.
The CTS will compete in Saturday’s Streets of St. Petersburg competition against other competitors in the highly competitive Sports Car Club of America World Challenge GT series. Johnny O’Connell will drive it, while Andy Pilgrim won the 2005 SCCA World Challenge GT class.
The car’s body is made of aerodynamic carbon fiber and has a supercharged V8 engine with 535 horsepower (399 kW/ 542 PS). This car is 21 horsepower (16 kW/ 21 PS less than the standard Coupe), but it weighs 1,000 pounds (454kg) less than its production counterpart.
O’Connell stated that the CTS-V Coupe racecar was very agile during testing and seemed to brake well. It should perform well on street circuits and in competition.
