Unforgettable sales success.
The final CadillacXTS has rolled off the assembly lines, ending production of Cadillac’s most beloved car. While the brand attempted to sell high-performance luxury sedans, the XTS was created to offer comfort to traditional Cadillac customers. The XTS was the winner of the sales battle, and we can now say goodbye to Cadillac’s most popular car.
You might be asking, “Why would Cadillac sell a car that has proven to be a success?” The XTS was originally built to serve as a backup for Cadillac’s loyal fan base, until the brand could introduce the new range-topping model. CT6 Luxury sedan. The CT6 is now available, so there’s no reason for the XTS not to go.
Although the Cadillac XTS didn’t attract as much attention from car enthusiasts as the CTS or ATS sports sedans, the XTS won sales statistics. The Cadillac XTS sold 3,553 XTSs from dealership lots during the third quarter 2017. Even better than its replacement, CT6 (which sold 2,731 units Q3 2017), the XTS beat it.
The XTS was able to sell 4,101 units, while ATS managed 2,281 customers. In Q3, 2018, the CT6 sold 2,376, the CT6 sold 2,376, and CTS sold a respectable 3,695 unit. Today, the XTS is in decline and sales are just barely behind 1,149 to 1,625. This is a remarkable run for a car Cadillac built only out of obligation.
The Cadillac XTS was a success, even though it didn’t stir the hearts of Cadillac enthusiasts. The XTS provided a way for traditional customers to continue to be interested in Cadillac’s sports sedan offerings. The CT6 is the future of Cadillac luxury sedans, and the XTS continues to live on.
