The unusual license plate mounting adds to the mystery.
The front lighting appears to be using placeholder pieces. Cadillac-light design cues are the vertical running lights at each side. The grille has a mesh center and a large grille. The lower fascia is similar in width.
The profile of the A-pillar shows a steep rake. Camouflage conceals all the sculpting on the flanks. It rides on complex spoked wheels.
The rear deck has a hump that hides the design. Only the trapezoidal exhaust tips, which are located below each corner of bumper, are visible. None of these lights are produced-spec parts.
Our spy team noticed that the holes used to mount the license plate are not in the right place for American vehicles. Engineers had to drill new holes to fit the plate on this vehicle. This indicates that the vehicle may not be suitable for the US.
General Motors does not currently have a trademark for the name XT3. If it is a Cadillac, our spies suspect, the car might not be called that. The automaker lost protection of the terms Cadillac XT3 and CadillacXT3 as of February 15, 2021.
We are also curious about the vehicle’s identity. suggests that Cadillac may have an all-electric lineup in 2030. It’s not clear that this model is an electric vehicle, so it’s strange that it is being developed at the same moment as other zero-emissions products.
According a rumor Cadillac showed a small electric crossover to dealers recently. According to reports, the model was about the same size as the current XT4. The product plan was to simultaneously sell the unnamed EV as well as the XT4 for a few more years.
