California’s Armored Car Collision Sends Cash Flying Over Highways

It literally rained money that the unfortunate bystanders couldn’t spend.

The California Highway Patrol informed CBS News 8 the minor accident was caused by an armored vehicle. The door of the armored truck burst and cash fell out shortly after the incident. Money flew across the highway, reaching even the southbound lanes. Traffic was stopped in both directions by the accident that looked straight out of a movie scene.

People were posting on social media about their excitement at the sudden flood of cash. However, CHP asked those who had picked up the bills to return them.

“We’re working together with the FBI now. It’s a joint inquiry and I highly recommend that you pick up any cash immediately. We do have a lot evidence to follow up on,” a spokesperson for CHP stated in the CBS report.
