Camaro lovers have a little hope.
Chevrolet denies any rumors regarding the Camaro’s demise. However, it is sure to give the muscle car a great send-off. Our previous report on the Prices for Corvette C8 in Australia, Wheels We will be discussing a little news about the Camaro towards the end of the story. According to some reports, the retirement of the other fast Chevy was moved from 2024 into 2026.
The Chevrolet Camaro currently is in a tight spot in the U.S. market. The Ford Mustang is still selling well, but it hasn’t been selling well in a while. In the third quarter 2020, Chevy sold 22,226 examples. This is a 39.5 percent decrease compared to the same time in 2019. The Mustang sold twice as many units during the three months of this slow and dreadful year.
We are not surprised that Chevy may soon be removing the nameplate without a replacement. These rumors have been floating since 2019, but the Golden Bow Tie has provided several updates.
The report from Australia’s wheels offers a small ray of hope to Camaro enthusiasts – at least, in the Land Down Under. It will be returning to GM Special Vehicles in ZL1 and SS flavors as soon as 2021. The publication seems positive about the car’s return and its participation in the Supercars Championship in 2022.
This should be taken with a healthy dose of skepticism. Chevy doesn’t confirm or deny anything. However, we do hope that it maintains the nameplate within the next decade, at the very least – prior to the EV takeover.
