This is absolutely crazy with David Coulthard at F1’s helm.
The Bugatti Chiron hypercar will be competing against the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 winner, courtesy UK’s . Let’s take a look at the drag racing before you start watching.
The Chiron is powered by a quad-turbo W16 engine of 8.0-liters that produces 1,479 horsepower (1.103 kW). It is sent to all four wheels via an automatic dual-clutch gearbox. This Formula 1 race car, the RB7 is powered by a 2.4-liter V8. It’s limited at 18,000 rpm and produces up to 750 hp (559 kW). David Coulthard, a former Formula 1 driver, is at the helm. He has also been a 13-time Grand Prix winner.
The Bugatti appears to have twice as much power. However, we must not forget that the RB7 weighs in at 650 kg (1,433 lb) plus the driver. The Chiron, however, weighs in at just a touch under 2 tonnes (4,398 lbs), giving it a significant advantage over the F1 race car. These numbers were irrelevant. It didn’t really matter because, even though it didn’t make any sense, the matchup was a lot of fun. Enjoy the three-round race below.
