Can’t Afford A New Nissan Z? You can buy a Z-themed watch for $2,495 instead

These limited edition timepieces can only be found in 1,700 locations worldwide.

Although the Nissan Z may not be expensive, it still costs around $40,000 in the US. You might be interested in a Citizen watch collection if that seems too expensive or you don’t want to wait.

Citizen and Nissan Z collaborate for the first time to create a special edition watch collection. According to the Japanese/Swiss watchmaker, each atomic timepiece will feature the design of the Nissan Z (or Fairlady Z for Japan) and Citizen’s top-notch technologies.

Two models of the Citizen Nissan Fairlady Z are available. Accents in the Nissan Z Ikazuchi Yellow color are featured on the AT8185-89E. They contrast with the all-black dial, case, band, hands and indexes. The main theme is Ikazuchi which means thunderbolt. The yellow dots on the dial are the same as those found on the Nissan Z Proto seats.

The AT8185-97E model has accents in Seiran Blue. The contrast with the matte black dial’s center looks almost like smooth asphalt. For a subtle look, the hands are finished with silver.

Citizen’s Eco-Drive RadioControlled technology is used to power both watches. This eliminates the need to use a battery. The watches automatically receive local time signals from four regions: Japan China USA, Europe, the United States and China.

Each model comes with a red secondhand (similar to a tachometer’s hand), a Fairlady Z logo rests at the dial, a Nissan logo at its back and a crown that bears the “Z” symbol – all of which signify the partnership between the companies. Citizen’s SuperTitanium lightweight case and band, with enhanced scratch resistance, are included on both models.

Citizen Nissan Fairlady Z limited edition watch sells at $2,495 per piece. There are only 1,700 of these watches worldwide. Citizen accepts pre-orders and deliveries are expected to start by March 14, 2022.
