This is quite impressive.

The original Land Rover Defender is a sturdy ladder-frame chassis with an aluminum body and more than a handful stories exploring uncharted territories.

Land Rover was unable to bring back the Defender’s glory days a few years back. Fans and enthusiasts were not openly welcoming the new Defender. Although the new unibody aluminum construction was not as robust as its predecessor, it had a long history of admiration. Richard Hammond was not convinced the new Defender badge is deserved.

The embedded video shows how a Land Rover Defender tried to pull a trailer with six Land Rovers. Stafford Land Rover, a UK dealership, owns this transporter. According to the video description it got stuck on the ice and the Defender came to its rescue.

Although the Defender 110 struggled with traction initially, which was understandable, it proved its serious ability to haul the heavy load. This was the only serious task the Defender 110 was capable of completing, despite the offroad tech it carries.

We don’t know which Defender 110 variant made this possible. However, we do know that the D300 with its 3.0-liter diesel engine produces 296 horsepower (221 Kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (479 Newton-meters) of torque.

While the Defender nay-sayers may be understandable, we cannot ignore the fact that this new version, while it is not as simple and straightforward as its predecessor, has more than just being an off-roader.
