Check Engine Light Doesn’t Slow Audi A6 On Autobahn Top Speed Run

It cruises at 151 mph.

Although the German Autobahn is not the best place to test a car’s top speed, it is allowed by law. There are many videos of supercars with high horsepower hitting the highway. But a TopSpeedGermany YouTube video shows a 2000 Audi A6 Avant 2.5T. Although it’s not the fastest car, it can reach its maximum speed when the check engine light is on.

This wagon is powered by a turbocharged V6 engine that produces 250 horsepower (260 kilowatts), and 258 pound-feet (355 Newton-meters) of torque. It’s connected to Audi’s Quattro all wheel-drive system. Although it’s not much power, the Avant has plenty of space to reach its maximum speed of 151 mph (243 km/h). This is a lot fast, especially when the check engine light flashes in the instrument gauge. At 100 mph that’s enough to be worrying, but at the two-and-a-half minute mark the check engine light blinks. It might be a reminder for the driver to not forget about it. The problem is not visible in the video. The car can reach its maximum speed even with the warning light on, but it isn’t the only warning light. The ABS system is also at risk. The Audi works without any issues.
Check Engine Light Doesn't Slow Audi A6 On Autobahn Top Speed RunAlthough the Audi A6 is 21 years old, it can still reach 151 mph on six cylinders. Although the roads are smooth, the car is quite composed. The Audi passes a variety of cars, including a Porsche 911 GT3 and what appears to be a hearse. However, it isn’t hauling nearly as fast as the Audi.
