Chevrolet has published the final specifications of the 2011 Caprice (Police Patrol Vehicle).

The PPV is based on the rear-wheel driven Holden Statesman. It features specially designed front seats (which can be sculpted to fit an officer’s gun belt), prisoner partitions, and a Driver Information Center that has a ‘Trap Speed’ function. You will also find a six-speed automatic transmission and 18-inch steel wheels with bolt-on center caps.

The 6.0-liter V8 engine will be the sole engine at launch. It produces 355 horsepower (265 kW/ 360 PS) as well as 384 lbft (352 Nm) of torque. The car will accelerate from 0-60mph in under six seconds before reaching its highest speed of “best-in class”. Chevrolet will soon offer a V6 engine that is efficient and economical, which will be a big hit in cash-strapped communities.

The company will accept orders for the PPV from October and deliver them in April 2011.
