WT and RST are the first to go, but Chevy plans to offer a range of electric pickup trucks.
The big day has arrived for Chevrolet. Although the all-electric 2024 Silverado EEV is now a reality, it will take some time for one to hit the roads. It will take at least one year, if it is not several months, to get the all-electric a data-inline widget=”internal-links” data- Once things start to move, you will have a wide range of Silverado electric vehicles to choose from. They won’t be used for work, but they will also be useful for nightlife.
We know a lot about two trim levels and three of the trims. Photos and details about the Silverado’s base WT as well as the RST were included in the EV’s debut. Chevrolet has over a year before production begins, so here is a quick overview of what we know.
WT
This entry-level Silverado Silverado Electric Vehicle will arrive in spring 2023. The starting price is $39,900, which includes a $1,695 destination fee. Although the WT will not have all the bells & whistles of RST, it will be Ultium-based with GM’s new Ultifi suite which allows for frequent over-the-air upgrades. It will be equipped with a 400-mile range battery and a 350kW fast-charging capability.
Expect a strong 510 horsepower (380kW) and 615lb-ft (834 Newton meters) of power. The WT can tow up 8,000 pounds and has a 1,300 pound payload for the bed. Chevrolet confirmed that there would be different range options, but no other information was available at the Silverado EV presentation.
WT (Fleet).
A fleet version of WT will be available for those companies looking for a more rugged work vehicle. The payload capacity and towing ability will both increase to 20,000 pounds. More details about the fleet model will be available later.
RST
The RST will follow in the fall 2023. This model is the top-of-the-line model and features extras like four-wheel steering, adjustable suspension and the reborn Midgate concept in its Multiflex bed. The 5-foot-11-inch bed can carry a load of nearly 9 feet with its tailgate down, and almost 11 feet with the Multi-Flex tailgate. The Super Cruise standard-issue 400-mile range is available to it. It also has Chevrolet’s Wide Open Watts mode, which allows for sub-4.5 seconds sprints from 0-60 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds. All-wheel drive and 664 horsepower (495 kW), make this possible.
RST First Edition
The RST First Edition is the start of the RST production run. It’s an RST with all options checked. Chevrolet claims it will retail at $105,000, although we don’t know how many options there are. This is a staggering $106,695 with destination included.
Trail Boss
Here is where the real mystery begins. Chevrolet did not provide any details about the Silverado EV Trail Boss at the debut. All they could say was that it is coming. One photo (at top of article) shows a well-built pickup with aggressive off-road tires and riding high above the ground. Gray is the front fascia, which is similar to the WT and the RST. It is possible to expect a starting price between $50,000 and $60,000 if it follows the same hierarchy as the Silverado line. However, the RST slots lower than Trail Bosss in Silverado’s standard lineup.
Other Silverado EV Models
Will there be an LT or LTZ? Custom? High Country? Chevrolet hasn’t yet confirmed which trims will be available, but it says that more trims are on the horizon. A HD version of the Silverado EV is also in development. Silverado EVs are available at a variety of price points, including $50,000, $60,000 and $70,000. As we move into the electric future, expect to see more options for the Silverado Electric Vehicle.
