The October sales will be the best month for sales.
The Chevrolet Blazer has been completely redesigned for the 2019 model year. It’s a sleek-looking SUV with Camaro inspired design and more than adequate technology, but it’s slightly less than its direct rivals in terms of performance and handling. However, this could all change with the introduction of the 2020 Blazer’s four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
This motor is a turbo 2.0-liter with 230 horsepower (172 Kilowatts) and 258 pounds-feet (355 Newton-meters). This puts it in between the 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four banger and the 3.6 V6 with 308 horsepower (230 kW) at the top. The new engine will include a nine-speed automatic gearbox as well as an engine stop feature.
The good news is that the new model will come with either a front-wheel drive standard or an optional all-wheel drive. The 2.0 turbo is available in 2LT or 3LT trim levels. The base L and LT will only be offered with the 2.5-liter engine. Premier and RS range-toppers will have the V6 engine.
Although pricing and fuel efficiency details are not yet available, it is likely that the new powertrain will be priced somewhere around the mid-$30,000 mark. Car and Driver report. Based on the return of the two other engines, expect fuel economy numbers in the range of 23-24 MPG combined. The final numbers will be available closer to the Blazer 2.0 turbo’s on-sale date, which should be in October.
Chevrolet is still working on the three-row SUV. The plan was to expand the Blazer’s backside in order to accommodate two more seats, according to spy photos taken earlier this month. However, the model may not be available for sale outside China. A launch is expected next year.
