It’s a Blazer that has a growth spurt.
The Blazer This model is a relatively recent addition to the Bowtie’s range, and these spy shots give a fresh glimpse at its next evolution into a larger three-row version. According to current rumors, it will sport the Blazer XL moniker.
The camouflage on this test mule is quite extensive, but you can still see the similarities to the Blazer beneath the concealment, especially the headlights. The Blazer is a lot longer than the Blazer standard, and the roof is much flatter. To increase the total model occupancy, the extra space in the rear should permit for a third row. The cargo space should also increase when the bench is removed.
According to current reports, the Blazer XL may not be available in the United States. The larger variant would be available to China, and South American markets. According to Chinese sources, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder would produce 240 horsepower (179kilowatts), while South American versions would come with a 3.6 liter V6 that produces 305 hp (227kW). The engines could be connected to a nine speed automatic.
Although the Blazer is more fashionable than its other offerings, the US would not be able to offer it. The Traverse has already made comments about the Blazer’s availability in America. The Blazer’s engineering will be completed if the market changes. If that happens, the executives could decide to bring the model Stateside.
American Blazer buyers will have the option of a new engine in 2020. The turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged produces 230 horsepower (172 kW) as well as 258 lbft (350 Nm), of torque. You can choose from either front- or rear-wheel-drive options.
