Drivers can enjoy the Camaro Racing when track days are boring.
For $259,000, muscle car enthusiasts looking for a turnkey racing car can now purchase the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R. Owners can participate in series such as the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series or the Pirelli World Challenge Series in America if they meet GT4 class regulations.
Pratt & Miller Engineering is well-known for its successful Corvette race cars. They also build these track-ready Camaros. The company starts with a completely stripped vehicle and then replaces the doors, front fascia and other components with carbon fiber. A FIA-approved safety device is located inside. This engine is a competition-ready 6.2-liter V8. It has different camshafts to the stock mill. The engine runs through a six speed Xtrac sequential transmission with a limited slip differential at the rear. You can also get anti-lock brakes and adjustable traction control.
Pratt & Miller installs a track-tunnel-tested kit body kit, which includes a new splitter, diveplanes, and a large, adjustable wing at the tail. The car’s handling is also tuned by an Ohlins coilover suspension that can be adjusted for each event.
The Camaro joins an array of other interesting machines in the GT4 category, including the perennial rival, the Ford Mustang. Automakers also offer versions of the Mercedes-AMG GT and BMW M4, Audi R8, Jaguar F-Type and McLaren 570S to their racing clients, as long as they comply with the applicable rules.
The ZL1 package with the 1LE option package offers the best Camaro options. It has all the driving thrill of the GT4.R, but is also practical enough to drive on the roads. A 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with 650 horsepower (485 Kilowatts) and 655 pound-feet (880 Newton meters) of torque is available for $69,995. Buyers have the option of either a 6-speed manual or 10-speed auto. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires provide 1.1g of lateral grip.
