It is still in its infancy.
Chevy unveiled the updated 2021 Colorado in June. However, rumors continue to swirl around about the future of the pickup. Although there is speculation about the next generation of the truck, it’s still a while away. However, a new rumor from GM–Trucks.com suggests that the truck might offer something much sooner – a Baja Mode. GM-Trucks.com According to reports, a source claims that Chevy will add an off-road Baja Mode for the ZR2 after 2021. The name of the rumored Baja Mode is not known, but it will eventually be found in the pickup. The mode may arrive as an option on its own, as part of other upgrades, or as standard equipment in a trim.
There’s also the task of finding out what a “Baja Mode”, for ZR2, could look like. The mode could involve both hardware and software upgrades. It could include reprogramming stability control and adjusting suspension components, or installing other bits. Although it’s still too early to know much, consumers are flocking truck-based businesses, eager to have some fun.
The source could not say when the mode would arrive, but only that it would be available after 2021. Chevy may offer a Bison-like option in the ZR2’s 2022-2023 model. The mode could be included in the next-generation Colorado by Chevy. Although information about the pickup is not available, there are already rumors about it. There are rumors that it may only come with one engine – GM’s turbocharged 2.7-liter four cylinder. GM pairs this with a ten speed gearbox.
The mid-size pickup market is becoming crowded. The Ford Ranger, and the Jeep Gladiator are two of the most recent entries. The Toyota Tacoma leads the segment, surpassing the Ranger or Colorado in sales. Baja Mode could attract new customers and make Colorado more competitive.
