Chevy Corvette Eray Spied Testing with Z06 and Standard ‘Vettes

It’s a flotilla Corvettes!

Chevrolet is still developing a new Corvette C8 around Nurburgring. However, it’s not yet on the track. It is believed that this model may be the E-Ray hybrid. However, it is still difficult to confirm. It appears that the vehicle is a mix of Corvette parts. This is the big mystery. Most of the body appears to be straight from the Z06 . The rear bumper of the standard model has dual, square-shaped exhaust outlets. This car does not have a hybrid powertrain.

Rumours suggest that Chevy’s product planners plan for the E-Ray replacing the Corvette Grand Sport. This would mean there wouldn’t be a GS in the C8 generation. We don’t know for sure, so we cannot rule out that the Grand Sport vehicle shown in these videos and photos is the Grand Sport.

The E-Ray’s powertrain would be the 6.2-liter V8 of the standard C8 and one or two electric motors depending on the rumor. Expect 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts ) and 650 horsepower (484 kW). It might take just 2.0 seconds to sprint 60 miles an hour (96 km per hour).

The E-Ray will not be available for purchase until 2023. The price of the E-Ray is reported to start at $100,000. It seems possible that Chevy will unveil the Z06 in 2022 if it follows the same strategy as Z06.

The future C8 variants will include the ZR1, which reportedly uses a twin-turbocharged Z06 engine that produces around 850 horsepower (634 kW). The Zora, which would be released in 2025, will use the same engine with electric motors to produce around 1,000 horsepower (746 kW).
