Chevy Silverado EV To Be Unmatched, According To GM CEO

Mary Barra claims that GM is the “first” to develop EV technologies.

Chevrolet will be attending the 2022 CES in Las Vegas. The electric Silverado will be unveiled by the automaker. It will be built on a modular platform, and will utilize the company’s Ultra lithium batteries. It will directly target the Ford F-150 Lightning, and other similar vehicles in the rapidly growing zero-emission truck segment. According to GM’s boss it will be the best on the market.

Mary Barra, General Motors CEO, spoke recently at an Automotive Press Association meeting. She discussed the Silverado EV as well as the automaker’s strategy in electric vehicles. She simply replied that the electric truck is awesome when she was asked what customers can expect. “I believe that when you look at the Silverado’s availability and the features that it offers, it is unmatched. That’s going to be a big difference,” she said. Her comment was probably directed at Ford, which used Ford’s F-150 platform for its electric version. She also stated that the Silverado EV would “educate people about what you can do when you have an electrical truck platform.”

Barra stated that despite the fact the electric Silverado has not yet been launched, she believes General Motors is the leader in EV and autonomous technologies among all legacy automakers. After receiving 200,000 pre-orders, Ford announced that it will temporarily close customer reservations for its F-150 Lightning. “For an OEM with scale, we are first. Barra stated, “Full stop.” “Start-ups that only focus on one area such as luxury segments or the like, are clearly competitors that we treat very seriously. But when General Motors puts its weight, its highest loyalty in America across all of our brands, we have many assets that we’re going bring to the party.”
