These vehicles are in desperate need of repair but can be restored to road-worthy condition with some elbow grease.
Two 10-door Chevrolet Suburbans with extended doors have been listed for sale in Japan. The opening price is 1 million yen ($9.068.85 at current exchange rate). Both of these big rigs were allegedly used for airport shuttles. It was not unusual for a vehicle to wait on the tarmac to take passengers to the terminal rather than the plane pulling up to the gate.
The auction listings indicate that the Suburban in gold-beige was built in January 1983. The gray-blue Suburban is a July 1987 example. According to the seller, these are only two examples of the model. Both of these Suburbans need to be picked up by a new owner. Because of its better condition and no visible broken windows, the blue one is a better candidate to rehab. It’s still unknown how these SUVs arrived in Japan
