Chevy’s First Full-Size Lego Model Is A Silverado Trail Boss

This life-sized replica was created using over 300,000 Lego pieces. It took 2,000 hours to complete.

Chevrolet doesn’t seem to be a big fan of making full-size Lego copies – even though it created the Batmobile in 2017, and continues its partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures, Lego Movie and Lego Movie. The American automaker, unlike Toyota, Bugatti, and Renault has never produced a Lego replica of its cars. Well, not until recently.

Chevrolet’s first Lego-like replica has been unveiled. It’s a 2019 Silverado 1500 LTL Trail Boss, which is exactly the same size as the monster-sized pickup truck.

The Lego Silverado model measures 72 inches (6 ft) high, 240 ft (20 m) long, and 96 x 8 ft wide. It took 18 builders to complete. Each of the 334,544 Lego was hand-selected by a team of LEGO Master Builders who spent over 2000 hours putting them in place. The 2×8 stud block is the most commonly used piece. Can you guess the color?

The Lego Group’s Model Shop, Enfield, Connecticut designed and built the replica of the Lego Silverado, weighing in at 3,307 pounds. The life-sized Silverado Lego model has working lights and graphic details. However, it isn’t driveable like the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron.

It is obvious that the Lego Silverado reproduction is a Chevy marketing stunt and a sign of continued cooperation between Warner Bros. Pictures and the Golden Bow Tie brand. This will allow a mini-build of Silverado High Country to be featured in the next Lego movie, “The LEGO Movie 2 Part 2”. It will debut on February 8, 2019.

“Chevrolet is thrilled to once more be working with Warner Bros. in integrating the brand and one our most iconic products, Silverado, into ‘The LEGO Movie 2’,” said Sandor Piszar (director of Chevrolet Truck marketing). The movie’s themes of teamwork and determination align perfectly with Chevy brand values. We are confident that the all-new Silverado will have the features, technologies and strength to help Emmet, Lucy, and their friends take on new challenges.
