The exterior will be enhanced with a few minor enhancements by the new trim.
The Ford Edge ST surprised everyone when it was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. It featured a 335-horsepower (325-watt) 2.7-liter V6 engine and a sporty design. Ford is not done promoting its 2019 Edge yet. The company today announced that the new Titanium Elite Package would be debuting at the Chicago Auto Show in a matter of days.
The 2019 Edge appearance package is available for the first-time. It includes new features such as full body color sides and a premium rear skid plate. Also, 20-inch wheels are not available elsewhere in the range. Ford hopes that the new Titanium Elite package will continue to build on the SUV’s success by appealing to a wider audience, especially a premium audience.
Ford has sold more that 1.3 million Edge SUVs in the U.S. and more than 2,000,000 globally since its introduction in 2006. Over the last four years, Edge sales have increased by eight percent, including Titanium, Sport, and an overall increase of six percent for all high trim SUVs in Ford’s lineup.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine from Ford will still be used in the 2019 Edge Titanium Elite model. The engine now generates 250 horsepower (186 kilowatts) with an eight-speed auto. Ford claims an increase in fuel economy but hasn’t yet provided official numbers. Safety-wise, all models of the Edge, including the SE, come with features such as forward-collision warning and pre-collision help, blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assistance. Ford has not yet revealed pricing information, but we will soon after the debut of the Edge Titanium Elite at the Chicago Auto Show.
