It blends retro style with modern power.
Because of its pivotal role in the creation of the luxury SUV segment, Land Rover Range Rover is an icon. They lack many of the modern amenities and have a poor reputation for reliability. Chieftain is here to help. He builds modified versions of these SUVs.
Chieftain offers a variety of modification options for the Range Rover. The Xtreme is the most popular. This model is also available in a two-door version, unlike the rest of the company’s offerings.
The GM-sourced 6.2-liter supercharged V8 makes 700 horsepower (52 kilowatts) through the Xtreme’s eight-speed automatic. This is a major upgrade to the original 3.5-liter V8 that produces 135 horsepower (101kilowatts) as well as a four-speed manual. You also get upgraded AP Racing brakes.
The Xtreme is sporty in its stance. The suspension seems to be a little lower than an unmodified Range Rover. The exhausts come out of the side sills, just before the rear wheels. The front fascia has been updated to give it a modern appearance that is not typical of a 1970s-era vehicle.
Chieftain builds all include a rebuilt chassis that is stronger than the original. A fully independent, double-wishbone suspension replaces the original live axles.
Chieftain makes its vehicles to order so that buyers can specify the colors and trim. Customers can choose to have the cabin decorated with wood panels or diamond-pattern contrast stitching.
Cheiftain has not disclosed the price of the Xtreme. However, the company’s entry level model costs PS147.500 in the UK and $185,000 in America. The Range Rover restomod features a naturally aspirated V8 engine and a six-speed auto, so you can expect a higher price for the top model.
