Is this the seven-seat version that we will see in the U.S.
It is no secret that the global automotive market is obsessed with SUVs and crossovers. Chevrolet has been a master at feeding this market. They offer the Traverse and Suburban to those who want seven-seat options. The Blazer offers five seats in a heavy and beautiful package.
Chevrolet added an extra row to the Blazer in China for seven-seat capacity. It is a common feature in China and has a lengthier rear, almost 5 meters (16 feet) overall. The new seven-seat Chevy Blazer was introduced in the People’s Republic along with the Menlo electric sedan, which is also exclusive to China at the time.
The first Chinese fully-electric vehicle, the Chevy Menlo electric sedan, is the Golden Bowtie. It is a sedan, but it looks more like a crossover. At least, that’s what it looks like to us. Chevrolet China did not provide any additional images of Menlo. If this is any indication, the Menlo will inherit the styling of the FNRX Concept crossover which debuted in Shanghai two year ago.
Under New European Driving Cycle conditions, the Chevy Menlo has a range of 255 miles (410 km) The latest generation of Chevy’s MyLink infotainment systems is also included.
According to several reports, the Chinese Blazer will have seven seats. However, spy photos of a larger Blazer have been seen throughout the year, leading to speculation that the U.S. will soon get the larger crossover.
Chevy has not confirmed these speculations yet. We should therefore all view spy shots with some skepticism.
