There is a catch.

Honda is rushing to sell more cars at the end of its fiscal-year this month. According to CarsDirect dealer incentive bulletins, Honda is offering a $1,250 cash incentive for select Honda SUVs from the 2021 model year. According to the website, this is the first time such a discount has been offered by the automaker.

There’s a catch, as with all good things. The $1250 cash rebate applies to the Honda Passport. A $1,000 cash discount is available for the 2021 HondaHR-V. This rebate is not for the global-spec Honda HRV, as you can see in this gallery.

CarsDirect discovered that customers may be able to save more by choosing to finance vehicles using promotional rates. The HR-V is at zero percent APR and the Passport at 0.9 percent. This applies for 60 months. You will not be able to choose the company’s low APR offers if you do not qualify for the rebate.

A $23,000 HRV would be $383 per month for five years, before taxes and fees. The rebate route would allow you to purchase the same car for $405 per month, with a 4.5% APR.

This offer could indicate that there are better deals ahead, especially since the US-spec next generation HR-V will soon be released most likely for the model year 2022. You don’t have to be concerned about any model changes in the near future.

You still have time to buy Honda products, CarsDirect reports.
